This patient had had a 30-year breast reconstruction process.
Mastectomy with radiotherapy and Grand dorsal flap in 1989 with prosthesis.
Unfortunately (but most likely due to radiotherapy), she developed a capsule contracture and was re-operated with capsulectomy and Becker prosthesis reconstruction (progressive expansion). Then she was given lipofilling, and she had a second capsular contracture and removal of the prosthesis.
was looking for a definitive solution to her problem, so I proposed her a DIEP flap.
The reconstruction was successful, with an uncomplicated postoperative course.
