Scar location after surgery is particularly important to understand how the aesthetic appearance of the tissue donor area can be improved. PAP flap allows to localize the scars in the inner thighs and in the gluteal fold in such a way as to hide them visually, similarly to how it is done for an inner thighs lift for aesthetic purposes, these scars improve over a year and a half until often only one line remains. A risk of this procedure is that sometimes in cases of particular laxity the scar may be located further below, but is likely to be improved after a simple revision.
The testimony of 4 patients who have had both DIEP and PAP makes us aware of the fact that PAP is better tolerated for postoperative recovery times and for the location of scars.
To date only 2 centers in Italy perform this routine procedure.
